BossDevs starts today. Before I get into what it is, it's probably worth explaining who is behind it — and why I came back to Redding to build it.

What Dallas Taught Me

I grew up in Redding. At 18 I moved to Dallas and spent four years building the digital presence for one of the most elite jewelry families in the industry — diamond dealers, celebrity clients, Maybachs in the parking lot. I built their entire online empire.

That work taught me something most business owners never get shown: there is an enormous difference between a website that exists and a website that earns. A $500 template and a site that actually makes the phone ring are not the same product with different price tags. They are different things entirely. One is a brochure nobody asked for. The other is the reason a stranger picks you over the business down the road.

I learned what elite-level SEO looks like when it is done properly rather than sold by the month. I learned how to build a brand that commands attention before anyone reads a word of copy. And I learned that none of it is magic — it is just work that most people skip.

Why I Came Home

I came back to Redding because I chose to, not because I had to. And I brought all of it with me.

Here is the thing I could not stop thinking about while I was away: the businesses back home are not worse than the ones in Dallas. They work harder, in a lot of cases. They are just being served worse. Northern California businesses deserve the same level of digital strategy that high-profile clients in major markets take for granted. That gap is the whole opportunity, and closing it is why BossDevs exists.

What BossDevs Is

BossDevs is a web design, development and SEO studio for businesses in Redding and across Northern California. Every site is custom-coded rather than assembled from a template, and the search architecture goes in from the first line of code instead of being bolted on once the design is signed off.

That is a slower way to build. It is also the only way I know to build something that is still working for you a year later.
