MOBILE SERVICE MODEL
Boss Bros RV has no shop, no storefront, no walk-in traffic — Taylor drives to the customer. That means the SEO game is entirely service-area and search-intent based: winning "mobile RV repair near me" across every city he actually drives to, not just one physical address. Compare this to the NorCal Precision Auto case study — a shop-based business fighting a completely different battle: the local map pack, foot traffic, and a fixed address on a road full of competitors.
THE CHALLENGE
Boss Bros RV is a mobile RV repair business run by Taylor Boss in Redding, CA. When we started, they had no website, no Google presence, and no way for customers to find them online — competing against established local businesses with years of Google history.
The goal: build a web presence from scratch that could rank immediately. No ad budget. Pure organic SEO.
THE RECON
A mobile business doesn't get one shot at ranking — it needs to win "mobile RV repair near me" independently in every city Taylor actually drives to. That meant the research couldn't stop at Redding. About 7 days went into a proper teardown of the competition, city by city: Cottonwood, Anderson, Red Bluff, Corning, Palo Cedro, and Mt. Shasta, each treated as its own separate market.
That teardown meant actually opening up each competitor's website — reading the code behind it, not just the page you see — to tell the difference between operators who had real SEO work (an agency or a paid tool) behind their site versus the ones who were essentially non-existent as competition: a bare Google Business Profile and nothing else backing it up.
For anyone who did have a real site, it got reverse-engineered — what keywords they were actually built to rank for, what their blog content looked like (or didn't), and how deep that content really went once you checked it against E-E-A-T fundamentals rather than just word count. Most were thin, generic, or missing entirely. That gap is exactly what got exploited on launch.
The one real exception across the whole territory was Einstein's Mobile RV Repair — 66 reviews at a 4.7★ average, and the only name that kept showing up as a genuine contender in more than one city. Everywhere else — Cronic Mobile RV Repair, Happy Mobile RV Repair LLC, Butler Mobile RV Repair, Davis Mobile RV Repair, K&K Mobile RV Repair — the review counts were thin and the sites behind them, when they existed at all, were exactly the kind of shallow setup that gets outranked fast.
Mt. Shasta sits furthest from Redding, and it's also where Einstein's had built the deepest roots — which is exactly why it's the one city on this list still sitting at #2 instead of #1. That result isn't hidden anywhere in this case study; it's the honest edge case that proves the rest of the numbers are real.

THE PROOF
Every one of these is a real, live Google search — "mobile RV repair near me" (or the local variant), checked city by city across the exact service area Taylor drives. No cherry-picked keyword, no stock screenshot.
Shasta Lake, CA is intentionally not targeted — Taylor made the call not to drive that far for jobs. We don't chase every city on the map, we win the ones he actually wants to service.
WHY BOSSDEVS
I check Boss Bros RV's rankings the way Taylor checks his service calendar — daily, and by hand. Not because it's a line item on a retainer — because I don't take on a client unless I already know I can win for them, and once I do, their numbers are personal.
I keep a limited number of client slots on purpose. Every business I take on gets studied at the level you just read about above — competitor site code, keyword targeting, blog content depth, all of it, before a single line gets written. That doesn't scale to fifty clients. It scales to a short list of people who are actually going to get the attention this takes.
I will never hire someone onto this to hit a headcount number. If someone doesn't care about a client's ranking the way I do, they don't touch a client's account — full stop. That's the standard, and it's the reason a mobile RV repair business with zero online history hit #1 in 4 days against operators who'd already been listed for years.
We don't call a #2 a win and move on. Mt. Shasta is still sitting at #2, and it stays checked and pushed every single week until that changes too. We're the Web Dev Bosses of Redding, and we intend to stay that way.
"Before this site, I had zero online presence. By the weekend after launch, my phone was ringing with real jobs. I made $7,000 that weekend. I didn't spend a single dollar on ads."
